Assalam,
Just my thoughts about Dutch youth. It is open blog, you may give feedback of agreement, denial or just-looking-around as well. Have been in Groningen for 3 months made me take a deep look at people here. I focus on people who are:
Listening to MP3 player
It’s OK to listen to your MP3 Player, but sometimes they turn the volume too loud. Even, people around you could hear your song. Buz buz buz, it ain’t good, guys. You should listen to it properly. Sooner or later it will damage your ears. And Studies shows that many of youth people damaged their ears by listening to MP3 Player too loud.
I also got one story about listening to MP3 player. It was school day, after I bought groceries in Paddepoel. I was waiting the ‘11′ Bus when an old people called me. He said that he didn’t like youth people who were wearing the headphone and turn it on so loudly and then they made some movement that he got bothered. He advised as well and asked me what music I was listening to. And alhamdu4JJ, I was listening to lecture at that time, and he just shocked and he said that mine is exception. Then, he shared experience when he went to Australia, as soon as he recognized that I come from Indonesia.
So guys, even there is no people who warn you the risk of this stuff, please use your MP3 properly. Sometimes, put your MP3 in your bag and get socialized!
Smoking
We know that weather in the Netherlands is as bad as other European Countries. Moreover, Umar said that there are 3 ‘W’s that always changed in Europe. Weather, Work, and Woman. According to weather, it’s a good reason to smoke when it’s windy. Most of youth people here smoke so bad. Sometimes, they just throw their cigarettes anywhere recklessly. They don’t even step it over, in order to make sure that the cigarette’s off.
Moreover, sometime they make the cigarettes themselves. Nice! and I wonder that they will damage their lungs so bad.
Drinking
No Drink, No Fun- the famous phrase spread in all over the pubs.In my student house, if there was no weekly duty about throwing away the bottles in the recycle-glass-trash-bin ( I forgot what’s called), my common room would be a junk. Each week, there always be a trolley full of bottles of beers, wine and whatsoever. Can you imagine how many bottles for each person? My student house places 37 students and I think each of them (excluding me) drink minimum a bottle of beer. Wait, we haven’t counted the canned-beer yet!
Partying
Party, party. Have fun! Plezier hebben! Party rarely held in the evening. It usually held at night after 10 pm until dusk I think. They make noisy loud and mess afterwards. Alhamdu4JJ, I never got bothered by that, just I can’t stopped wondering what’s on earth they’re doing here. Guys, we have neighbors! Moreover, my student manager has told us for frequent time about the neighbors who are complaining about our student house. Otherwise, they’ll call police and the thing is- the neighbors already took serious step by complaining it directly to housing office.
SEX !
Ha ha ha, do i have to describe this stuff?
Salam,
Widyoseno E. Muhsin
